First a Happy New Year to all visitors of this site. Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve was some time to make pictures. So look here. To the thorough visitor of my site the motive might be familiar. Like the old picture (see last night 45 – Herbst Allee) this new one is photo based. At the old one I had then still a little painting around, with this new one I have only tried at the computer to find something like the utimative version. This should serve me as a template and inspiration for an acrylic painting. I suspect quite how difficult it will be, but I want to enter this tunnel, let’s see if I arrive at the other end. I was inspired to try this motif and its processing – no big secret, but I want to have it shared – by a book about landscape paintings by Gerhard Richter. I remembered this picture and on the midday walk I made another photo from almost identical perspective as raw material. This afternoon and evening I experimented. And this is the result for now. I hope it is not too epigonal. But it should not be the end yet. It’s just the beginning of a new year, with a new picture, with new goals.
