Hi, I know I haven’t checked in for a while. On the one hand, I think it is normal not to be in continuous use, for whatever purpose, but to take breaks, as productive breaks as possible. However, I have to admit that I have recently come up against limits that have stopped me. The limits of my printer, for example, which has refused to continue working. Also the limits of my storage capacity. At the beginning of January I had brought all my pictures from my first exhibition back home again and there they stood in a row and made our guest room, anyway already mainly my “studio”, my collection store and much more, as well as an adjacent room almost impassable, because even during the exhibition pictures had been produced and had taken their place and space. Then I had already had renovation plans for our apartment for months, and with Corona and the stay at home bid, the best opportunity for the implementation presented itself. There I was very busy and sometimes a real painter, not a picture maker. It went well with the painting. But the picture maker remained uninspired. I found out: Corona is also a brake on creativity. It reduces the number of new pictorial impressions to a few rare moments, and again and again the image of the virus pushes its way into the pictures, which start to appear in my head or my mobile phone, paralysing the good mood and thus progress. Above, one of these handicaps has been preserved in the picture. I simply cannot find access to the topic with my approach .It reduces the number of new pictorial impressions to a few rare moments, and again and again the image of the virus pushes its way into the pictures, which start to appear in my head or my mobile phone, paralysing the good mood and thus progress. Above, one of these handicaps has been preserved in the picture.I simply cannot find access to the topic with my approach. My pictures should not be received without a smile, however justified. Corona freezes the smile. And I am not yet a cynic. Corona as a full moon, a fixed star? And that was still the best picture, but not painted to the end, not thought through. There it hangs now, the virus we now know more about than our friends. But luckily, you can trust them. Not this virus. There’s little pictorial pleasure, no will to execute, no will to “perform”. By the way, beamed into a scene from a famous movie by whoever. Somehow I don’t want to have been the one who did it.
But since yesterday things are looking up again, so my feelings are. Not yet with Corona, but with the picture making… these newcomers are not supposed to become appendages to this Corona mourning, but get their own performance on their own stage. Soon. They already have a common name. For me the new pictures are the “Here Comes The Judge – Sessions”.
Watch out!
